Weavers mother was an actress and her father was the creative force behind many TV shows (like the today show and The Tonight Show) and at one point president of NBC
in 1963 Susan Weaver changed her name to Sigourney after the character Sigourney Howard form the novel The Great Gatsby.
1971 Siguorney went to Yale School of Drama. in 73 she began her theatrical career in 'Watergate Classics'.
Alien was released in 1979 and was the film that help make Sigourney Weaver a star.
